Payment Terms
We ask that payments are made for each appointment as they are completed. We accept cash, cheque, laser cards and credit cards. A receipt is always issued at the end of each treatment session.
Tax Relief
Certain dental procedures such as crowns, root canals qualify for tax relief.
At the end of treatment we will provide and help complete a Med 2 form for you and you can use this to claim your tax relief.
Cancellations
We would ask for at least 24 hours notice if you have to cancel your appointment. This gives us the opportunity to offer the appointment to someone else.
Regrettably, patients who continually fail to attend their appointments will be liable to pay a ‘failure to attend’ fee. This must be settled prior to a new appointment being arranged otherwise no further appointments can be made.

Expert Treatment at an affordable price
All patients at the clinic are seen on a private basis, under the PRSI scheme operated by the Dept. of Social Welfare or as valid Medical Card holders under the State’s Dental Treatment Services Scheme run by the Health Services Executive.
If you are covered under the PRSI scheme, you are entitled to one ‘Oral Examination’ per year and a reduction on a scale/polish. If you would like to know if you qualify for this, simply bring your PPS number in to practice. By giving us your PPS number you are giving us consent to check your Eligibility. If you have any questions or would like further information relating to fees and services, please talk to Lucia our practice manager or any one of the staff at reception who will be happy to help.
PRSI Scale & Polish for 15 euro
PRSI- Please present your PPS number Colm Smith Dental can check your eligibility. By giving us your PPS number you are giving us Consent to check your eligibility.
If you are eligible, your check-up will be free and a regular scale and polish with the dentist or hygienist will be €15.
Medical Card Cover
Medical Card- if you hold a medical card, with your consent Colm Smith Dental can check your eligibility prior to your appointment. If you are eligible, you are entitled to a free examination, 2 fillings and all extractions per calendar year. Other treatments are available on the Medical card; however prior approval is required from the HSE.
